Intelliquip SelectorTM Making the optimum model and size selection for a given conditions of service (COS), is one of the most challenging aspects of any automated front-end system. It can be very complex, highly iterative, and very unique to each type of equipment. In the past, the selection process was solely performed by skilled application and sales engineers and their “price books”. This was a manual process that was prone to errors. Over the years, many companies semi-automated this process with custom developed selector “tools” and software. This software is typically not web-enabled, not integrated with other business systems, not very user friendly, and expensive (or impossible) to maintain.
We understand the complexity of the selection process and have developed software that allow us to rapidly implement selection solutions for pumps, blowers, compressors, valves, actuators, motors, filters, heat exchangers, seals, turbines, couplings, and VFD’s. The Intelliquip Selector was developed to provide a powerful, web-enabled solution to allow your sales force, sales channels, and end users to rapidly and accurately select the proper product for their application. The Selector prompts the user to enter the conditions of service pertinent for the equipment being selected. It analyzes this information, maps it against your product lines, and then quickly displays a listing of your equipment (along with pertinent performance and construction data), which will meet those conditions of service. This allows the user to assess the various options, and ultimately make the correct selection. Performance data sheets and curves (if applicable), are automatically generated.
We realize that every type of equipment has unique selection criteria, and special ways that users like to see the data. As such our product selection techniques differ from product to product. For centrifugal pumps we might consider factors such as fluid properties, temperature, flow, head, NPSH, desired RPM, and construction specifications, while for a valve actuator we might consider torque requirements, voltage, frequency, stroking time, etc. For our Valve Selection Module, on the other hand, we take into account flow coefficient, maximum pressure drop, and valve application, among others. Our Compressible Flow Selector handles compressors and blowers. It considers performance calculations and adjustments specific to compressors and blowers such as inlet/outlet conditions and inlet throttling. We have tailored our software to the selection of other product lines as well, notably seals, couplings, and turboexpanders.
Because the solution is web-based, internal and external sales staff, product application engineers, distributors, and other essential business partners can immediately access your latest product data. Think of it as an electronically updated, error-free replacement for the old dog-eared price book.
In addition, we now have a partnership with Applied Flow Technology that integrates our software with their pipe modeling software, and will help bring more sales leads to our clients.
