Applied Flow Technology and Intelliquip Create Two-Way Link for Internet Pump Selection

Woodland Park, Colorado, Columbus, Ohio USA -- August 4, 2003 -- Applied Flow Technology's leading piping system modeling and optimization software, AFT Fathom™ and AFT Mercury™, are now able to directly transfer pump operating point information to Intelliquip's web-based pump selector, Intelliquip Selector™, via the Internet. Candidate pumps selected in the Intelliquip Selector can then be transferred back to AFT software and immediately evaluated in the system model, further enhancing engineers' ability to properly design and optimize piping systems.

With the click of a button, AFT Fathom or AFT Mercury users may transmit pump requirements (e.g., head, flow, NPSHA, pressure, temperature, etc.) determined by the piping system hydraulic analysis directly to Intelliquip online pump selectors. Using the selector's powerful search capabilities, pumps meeting the requirements are identified, including comprehensive performance curves which may be directly transferred back to AFT Fathom and AFT Mercury. Performance curve data is then immediately available to be used for pumps within the piping system model and to save in AFT pump databases. This data exchange link will be available to all pump manufacturers using the Intelliquip pump selector and to the engineers using and specifying these manufacturers' pumps.
